ROD THE PIPE MAN
Now this is THE man. You know, DA man.
Also one bad-ass drummer extraordinaire.
The construction zone.
Andy McAusland - guitar, vocals. A veteran of the New York alterna-music scene of the 90s,
former member of the Apphasics and No Tomorrow, two high-energy alt-rock bands who
performed around the tri-state (that is, NY, NJ, CT) area for many years. Plays with brother
Sean as the acoustic duo The Brothers McAusland (alternately known as Acoustic Dinosaur
Construction Unit). Andy is a versatile and prolific songwriter. He enjoys writing songs in a variety
of styles (jazz, folk, rock). Recently, he was the stunt guitarist for We Got The Missiles
(formerly known as The Live-in Statues) and was the original guitarist/singer for The Moldy Figs.
Andy also performs with Marilynn Seits and The Vibrations Jazz Ensemble with brother Sean
and mom - jazz/improvisational pianist virtuoso Marilynn Seits.
Sean McAusland - fretless and fretted bass and vocals. Founding member of Phalic Symbol,
a weird degenerate Burlington, VT, lo-fi punk band, Chin Ho!, an alt-rock band from Vermont who became
regionally prominent, Mother Bates (And So Do I...) a politically active trans-gender alt-rock band
(don't ask...and we won't tell...). Sean joined the Moldy Figs in 1999. Currently Sean performs with Marilynn Seits and The
Vibrations Jazz Ensemble with brother Andy and mom - jazz/improvisational pianist virtuoso
Marilynn Seits, with brother Andy in the acoustic duo The Brothers McAusland (alternately known
as Acoustic Dinosaur Construction Unit), Transsister a politically active trans-gender alt-rock
band (don't ask...and we won't tell... 'nuff said).
Rod Parker - drums and percussion - an incredible drummer who is a veteran of the Palm Beach County
and South Florida jazz/jam scene, sitting in spots with the likes of Jaco Pastorius and Scottie Henderson.
Currently he performes with the DCU and performs part-time with various jazz/blues/rock bands
in the South Florida area.
Thor - a veteran drummer from North Carolina who occassionally fills in on gigs when The Pipe Man
is out of town... an incredible master of syncopation and rhythm who currently resides in the prestigious
civilized enclave of Wellington.
First there was darkness.
Then there was light.
The Moldy Figs followed soon after.
And then arose the era of The Dinosaur Construction Unit.
